The Madison Christian Giving Fund (the “MGCF”), is a group of Christian volunteers who desire to make the Gospel of Christ known in the Madison Area. The MGCF would like to take a moment in the midst of the uncertainty and unrest to speak about the current situation as it relates to racial injustice.

In the spirit of easy to understand 2 word messages from the Bible that help us navigate life and make an impact for the Kingdom of God, consider the commonly used phrase, he was a “God-Send”. A friend recently referred to his sister-in-law as a God-Send to him. As he told it, “she helped me in my walk with Christ in ways I would not have predicted. She was a real God-Send.” I thought, that’s it!

Recently some leaders of the Madison Christian Giving Fund met to pray. We figured that since we exist to advance the Kingdom of God by supporting grass-roots ministries who serve people and lovingly share the gospel with them, we should be praising and listening to the King.

Over a decade ago, a few pastors were lamenting how they’d come to the end of an Advent season exhausted and sensing they’d missed it – the awe-inducing, soul-satisfying mystery of the incarnation.

A recent study by Microsoft revealed what we already suspected: the average human being has an attention span of 8 seconds. This is especially challenging for communicators: teachers, pastors, or anyone wishing to build a meaningful relationship with another human being. The greatest Communicator of all time, Jesus Christ, knew this was coming.

I'm not sure if he's on a 6 month recall or just comes for emergencies only, but I'm certain He goes! This week, we had a new patient come in for his first appointment. A little while into his time in our reception area, he noted some Bible verses on the wall. He asked about them and Alan shared the ADC mission, that we are for ANYONE in the gap.

There are three realities about Christian non profits in Madison. They understand that true lasting transformation for people and communities can only come through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The gospel is integral to everything they do. As they meet needs and serve people they share this message openly and without compromise. These same Christian organizations are intentionally cut off from many sources of funding that are available to others, just because they are called and committed to sharing the transforming message of Jesus. This inequity obviously impairs their ability to fulfill their calling in Madison.
