22 CHILDREN ASKED JESUS TO BE THEIR LORD & SAVIOR

On January 25, 22 Young Scholars of Lighthouse Christian School were baptized in the Lighthouse Church sanctuary. Originally, 9 students were scheduled to be baptized, but over the prior weekend, Bob Lenz from Life Promotions, was used mightily by God and 13 more students committed their lives to Jesus.

Marcio Sierra, Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Church, said, “The Gospel is preached daily to our students and every year we have a baptism service for children who have received Jesus into their hearts and do not attend a church of their own. This year, many children have asked Jesus to be their Lord and Savior and they go to their churches to get baptized. These kids getting baptized don't have a church and for some, their parents are non-believers, and yet, the parents are excited for their children making a commitment to Jesus. Many of these parents were present. How amazing that children are being used by God to bring their parents into the knowledge of Jesus Christ. The Madison Christian Giving Fund has been instrumental in helping Lighthouse Christian School achieve our goal of making disciples of Jesus. The support of thousands of dollars over the years is producing fruit, fruit that will remain.”

Here is the “back story”. In 2014 Lighthouse Church was the first recipient of a grant of $10,000 from the Madison Christian Giving Fund. The money was used to establish an early childhood learning center on the east side of Madison in the Eagle Harbor housing project. Since then, in partnership with the Madison Christian Giving Fund and many others, Lighthouse has expanded the school and church, erased the “achievement gap” for low income “scholars”, partnered with Extended Hands Food Pantry to address food insecurity, trained and deployed eighth graders for a summer missions trip, and pioneered countless other acts of service and love.

The mission of the Madison Christian Giving Fund is to support people like Marcio Sierra and organizations like Lighthouse Christian School and Church that lovingly share the Gospel and make disciples of the people they serve.

Here's something to think about: multiply this story by over 60 Christian organizations funded by the Madison Christian Giving Fund with over 1 million dollars over 9 years and you have

a glimpse of the Kingdom of God expanding in Madison. The Psalmist puts it this way,

“Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” Psalm 40:5.
